Seraikela, Oct 25: Sonaram Bodra, the BJP candidate for the Kharsawan assembly seat, formally submitted his nomination papers on Friday at the district office, accompanied by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda. Prior to the nomination, Bodra offered prayers and, along with his supporters, paid homage to the statue of Lord Birsa Munda at Sini Chowk. They then proceeded in a celebratory procession to the district collectorate, cheered on by party workers.

During the event, Munda expressed confidence in Bodra’s victory, stating that the people of Kharsawan would ensure a significant win for the Bharatiya Janata Party. He emphasized the need for BJP leadership in Kharsawan, given its current state. Munda highlighted Bodra’s experience as the Chairman of the Zila Parishad, asserting that he has consistently worked for the area and is a deserving candidate.

Munda also addressed the issue of rampant corruption in the state, particularly mentioning the well-known tender scams in Kharsawan, where substantial sums of money are allegedly mismanaged. He criticized the last five years of governance as marked by policy paralysis and development stagnation.

In response, Bodra pledged to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to him by the BJP, vowing to continue the work of former Union Minister Arjun Munda. He noted that the public is dissatisfied with the current MLA, asserting that the promises made by the JMM government in 2019 have not been met. He expressed optimism that the BJP’s lotus symbol would thrive throughout Jharkhand, including in Kharsawan. The event was attended by notable figures, including former MLA Mangal Singh Soy and a large contingent of BJP supporters.
