Jamshedpur: The maiden meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party’s OBC Morcha was organized at Chamber Bhavan, Bistupur, on Sunday.
It was presided over by the district president of the OBC Morcha Gopal Prasad Jaisawal. It was also attended by the MP of Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato and district BJP President Dinesh Kumar. The guests inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp. They were welcomed by the OBC Morcha leaders.
Addressing the meet, the MP said both the Central and state governments were running a number of welfare schemes for the poor people. He said the OBC front of BJP should help expedite the welfare work by enlightening the masses about them.
In his address, Amardeep Yadav said the OBC Morcha had a huge responsibility of working for the people belonging to backward castes. He said the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was running a number of welfare schemes meant for the uplift of poor people.
These schemes can be run more effectively if the OBC Morcha takes up the task of reaching out to the backward people and informing them about the government’s initiatives, he said.
Among others present on the occasion included Mithilesh Yadav, Nirbhay Thakur, Khemlal Choudhary and Shashi Bhushan Bhagat.
