BJP’s Mahesh Poddar files nomination for RS polls

Ranchi, May 31: The�BJP�today nominated its second candidate for the Rajya Sabha�elections for two posts from the state.�

Party’s state unit treasurer Mahesh Poddar filed his papers with Independent MLAs Bhanu Pratap Sahi and Gita Koda being among the signatories.�Chief Minister Raghubar Das and several other leaders were present at the�state assembly�secretariat.�

Minister of State for Minority and Parliamentary Affairs and BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who had yesterday filed one set of papers, today filed another set, party sources said.�

The biennial�election�slated for June 11 is being held to fill two vacancies from Jharkhand.�

Union Minister for Minority�Affairs�Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi re-filed his nomination for Rajya Sabha seat in Ranchi�on Tuesday. Naqbi re-filed his nomination as previous nomination was cancelled.

Later, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Chief Minister�Raghubar Das, Jharkhand�BJP�President Tala Marandi and BJP Rajya Sabha nominee Mahesh Poddar flashed victory sign at Jharkhand assembly.

Today was the last date for the filing of nomination papers.
