Jamshedpur, August 8: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren accused BJP of dividing society to remain in power and cited the instances of Manipur and Haryana to buttress his claims.
Addressing a function to mark death anniversary of JMM founder leader Nirmal Mahato at Uliyan in Kadma on Tuesday, Soren said, “Jharkhand is such a state where people of all castes and religions live in unity, but the BJP started creating divisions as soon as it came to power. Not only this, at the behest of BJP, caste and religious fire has been set in the whole country. BJP’s slogan is divide, stay in power. The latest examples of these are Manipur and Haryana.”
“On the one hand, fire is raging in Manipur, people are dying, but the central government is keeping silent. In such a situation, it is the day for us to take a pledge of unity and integrity,” said Soren.
Remember Nirmal Mahato as a martyr for separate state of Jharkhand, Soren said, “He had always fought for the rights of the natives and tribals of the state. That’s why today is the day of resolution for all of us.”
He paid respects at the Samadhi located at Kadma Uliyan.
“After the separation of the state, till three years ago, BJP was in rule for most of the time. Till date, the wound of the atrocities done by the BJP on the people here for 18-20 years has not healed. Earlier governments used to make schemes to fill their pockets, while the present government is giving benefits of the scheme by reaching people’s homes,” said Soren.
“Development has never been an issue for the BJP. Today, when the government is making plans for development, the BJP is trying to topple the government from the very first day and is facing defeat every time. Due to this act of BJP, the people of the state gave a befitting reply to them in the year 2019 and BJP did not get a single seat from an area like Kolhan,” claimed Soren.
The CM said that our root is the village, there is a need to make it stronger. When the natives and tribals along with the village will be strong and will stand to face every competition, then not only the state but Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will also be strong.
The function was attended by cabinet minister Champai Soren, Joba Manjhi, Banna Gupta, MLA Savita Mahato, Sameer Mahanty, Mangal Kalindi, Sanjeev Sardar.
