Jamshedpur : Concern over the present power crisis in Jamshedpur and other areas, BJP activists led by Jamshedpur East MLA Raghubar Das staged demonstration in front of East Singhbhum district headquarters. Activists in large number along with Jamshedpur MP Vidhyut Baran Mahto participated in it.
Addressing the demonstration Das said: The people here are reeling under power crisis across the State. In most part of the areas electricity supply is not there and even in some of the locality where there is power supply is irregular. The years old electricity wires and poles are in abject condition with incident of power cuts being taking place frequently in summer. We are here to protest against the prevailing situation and create a pressure on the State Government to take immediate action.
Citing examples of poor power supply, Amarpreet Singh Kale, State BJP spokesperson, said that through the agitation the party wants to give a message to the Chief Minister, who claims to improve the power scenario.
In most part of the area electricity supply is not there and even in some of the locality where there is power supply is irregular. The years old electricity wires and poles are in abject condition with incident of power cuts being taking place frequently in summer, noted another activist.
However, with regard to the electricity the scenario is far from improving as large population is solely dependent on limited sets of transformers in the area. The pitiable condition of the electricity wires and poles add more to the power woes of the Mango residents. The situation in places like Govindpur, Jugsalai, Karandih and Mango become worse during the peak summer season as the residents fail to get even 5-6 hours of electricity supply.
With regard to the electricity the scenario is far from improving as large population is solely dependent on limited sets of Jharkhand Urja Vikas Nigam Limited transformers in the area. The pitiable condition of the electricity wires and poles add more to the power woes of the residents. Meanwhile, the authorities of Jharkhand Urja Vikas Nigam Limited blames short-supply from Ranchi’s Central Load Despatch ( CLD) while at times the local sub-station collapses due to overloading during peak hour.
