Jamshedpur: District BJP president Nandjee Prasad today visited various river ghats across the city in view of Chhath and took stock of the situation and safety arrangements for the devotees.
He said many river ghats were not safe and the condition of road leading to the puja venues was such that the possibility of a mishap taking place anytime could not be denied.
He said local people had complained about inconveniences likely to be caused to the devotees during the festival.
In order to get the ghats cleaned and the roads repaired, a delegation of BJP activists would soon meet the special officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee and demand necessary measures to improve the amenities for devotees.
