Jamshedpur: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) submitted a memorandum to the Burmamines Police Station on Monday, raising serious concerns over the alleged rise in drug trafficking and deterioration of law and order in the area.

The memorandum was submitted under the leadership of Ritesh Jha, President of the BJP Burmamines Mandal. Party leaders claimed that drug-related activities in various forms have increased in the locality, posing a grave threat to social harmony and adversely impacting the younger generation.

State Executive Committee member of the party, Kulwant Singh Bunty, who was part of the BJP delegation, issued a 15-day ultimatum to the officer-in-charge, Dilip Yadav. He warned that if drug trafficking is not completely curbed and law and order is not restored within the stipulated period, the BJP would be compelled to launch a large-scale agitation.

Former district president Rambabu Tiwary said criminal activities are steadily increasing in the Burmamines police station area. He cautioned that failure to control the situation would lead to intensified protests by the party in the coming days.

Several senior BJP leaders and workers were present during the submission of the memorandum, including Satveer Singh, former mandal president Deepak Jha, Suraj Singh, Ravijent, Saurabh Srivastava, Rakesh Chaudhary, former general secretary Rakesh Singh, along with hundreds of party workers.

All those present unanimously demanded a drug-free Burmamines and urged the administration to take swift and stringent action against those involved in illegal activities.
