BJP Mahila Morcha remembers Rani Laxmibai

Jamshedpur: Bharatiya Janata Party Mahanagar Mahila Morcha celebrated the birth anniversary of Rani Laxmibai at the party headquarters in Sakchi on Sunday. The chief guest of the occasion was the chairperson of Jharkhand State Women�s Commission Kalyani Sharan while the special guest was district BJP president Dinesh Kumar.

Addressing the gathering, Kalyani Sharan said today�s women need to become Rani Laxmibai in order to protect themselves. She said the Central and state governments were trying to empower the womenfolk through various schemes.

In his address, the BJP president said Rani Laxmibai had dealt a heavy blow to the British forces at a tender age of 23 years. He said a similar courage and strategy is needed today to resolve various issues being faced by women in the Indian society. He said the women activists of the party should work hard and sincerely to make sure the womenfolk get the benefits of government schemes.

The programme was also addressed by the state secretary Reeta Mishra, state working committee member Mamata Singh and Preeti Sinha. The programme was conducted by Mamata Kapoor. A vote of thanks was proposed by Meena Devi.
Among others present on the occasion included Shikha Rai Choudhary, Pushpa Tirkey, Jyoti Adhikari, Kanta Devi, Kailashpati Mishra, V Jaya Laxmi and Sudha Devi.
