Jamshedpur, June 2: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a special public relations campaign to commemorate the completion of nine years of the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As part of the two-day “Vikas Teerth” program, directed by BJP Jharkhand Pradesh, party leaders visited major development schemes in two assembly constituencies of Jamshedpur on Friday.

The visits focused on significant sites that have witnessed development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Raghubar Das. The delegation inspected the Women’s University, Professional College, and houses being constructed in Birsanagar under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. They also visited the Sidirsai Railway Halt in Potka Assembly, the flyover near Rankini Mata Temple, and the electrical sub-station in Asanboni built in the Sidhgora area of the Eastern Legislative Assembly.

Member of Parliament Bidyut Baran Mahato highlighted the rapid pace of development during the previous “double engine” government in the state. However, he expressed concerns that development works had stagnated since the formation of the Hemant Soren government. He cited dozens of schemes that have failed to progress in the last three and a half years due to the apathetic attitude and anti-development mentality of the state government.

MP Bidyut Baran Mahato mentioned the establishment of the state’s first women’s university in Jamshedpur during the previous Raghubar Das government. However, he expressed disappointment over the university’s lack of facilities, attributing it to the state government’s neglect. He also raised concerns about the non-commencement of studies in the professional college, which was intended to provide technical and quality education to the youth. The buildings of the college are now falling into disuse due to lack of initiative and maintenance by the Hemant Soren government.

MP Bidyut Baran Mahato further expressed worry over the slow progress in the construction of thousands of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Birsanagar. He criticized the Hemant Soren government for its lackluster implementation of various central schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Former MLA Menka Sardar acknowledged the efforts made by the previous “double engine” government in formulating comprehensive plans to address various issues. She commended the Modi government at the center and the former Raghubar Das government for fulfilling long-awaited demands in Jharkhand, including Jamshedpur. Schemes such as the provision of toilets in every household, pucca houses, electricity connections, Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, Saubhagya Yojana, and Nal se Jal were successfully implemented in the state.

BJP District President Gunjan Yadav emphasized that under the “double engine” government of the BJP, Jharkhand’s identity transformed from “Scam Jharkhand” to “Skill Jharkhand.” Many central government schemes led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi were effectively implemented during the previous Raghubar Das government. However, in the last three and a half years, the Hemant Soren government has deceived various sections of society, including youth, tribals, women, farmers, the elderly, and the disabled. The BJP government brought significant achievements and ushered in a new era of development and progress in Jharkhand. The event witnessed the presence of several party leaders and workers, including District General Secretary Anil Modi, MP Representative Sanjeev Kumar, Eastern Assembly MP Representative Chandrashekhar Mishra, Baridih Mandal President Santosh Thakur, Sitaramdera Mandal President Suresh Sharma, Birsanagar Mandal President Bablu Gope, and numerous others, along with local residents.
