Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Mahanagar unit of Bharatiya Janata Party went all out on Friday to demand renovation of the dilapidated Govindpur road.
Led by district BJP president Dinesh Kumar, the agitating party workers demanded reconstruction of the road. The agitators walked from Chandni Chowk to Govindpur railway level crossing to protest the poor condition of the road.
The BJP president said he had met Chief Minister Raghubar Das in Ranchi recently and sought his intervention in the matter to ensure early construction of the road. He said the CM�s office had asked Tata Motors management to get the road construction under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
He said the company had set the ball rolling in this regard. Very soon, the road construction would start. The Plant Head of Tata Motors gave this information to MP Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato and East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar.
The district BJP president said the Jugsalai MLA Ramchandra Sahis had failed to take care of his constituency.
Among those present during the agitation included Sanjeev Kumar, Haldhar Narayan Sah, Ankit Anand, Subhash Upadhyaya, Raman Jha and Vimalkant Jha.
