Jamshedpur: Bharatiya Janata Party members from Telco have demanded suspension of the two ASIs who were allegedly found abusing and manhandling the munshi (writer clerk) of Telco police station yesterday.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, district media spokesperson of BJP Ankit Anand said the police officials found guilty of irresponsible behavior while on duty should be immediately removed from their jobs.

It is surprising as well as shocking since the police station is a public office. The two police officers accused of fighting with the munshi of the Telco PS were in inebriated condition. When we went to the police station to help resolve the matter, they also misbehaved with us.

This is just too much and it is high time the department high-ups took exemplary action against such reckless cops, said Pappu Mishra, president of BJPs Telco unit.

The BJP leaders said they had apprised senior police officials about the incident and sought stringent action against the accused cops.

They said they had also made available video clips of the incident to the officer in-charge of Telco PS Shankar Thakur.
