BJP leaders afraid of being exposed: Pradip Yadav

Jamshedpur: Barely a day after seeking help of Bharatiya Janata Party and All Jharkhand Students Union to topple Hemant Soren government, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha MLA Pradip Yadav on Saturday lashed out at the BJP for giving cold response to its proposal.

Although we are still trying to muster its support, the BJP does not seem interested in bringing the government down in Jharkhand. It is a clear signal that the BJP leaders are afraid of skeletons tumbling out of their closet if they dare bare the state government before the people and make an attempt to dismantle it.

This speaks volumes of the sincerity of the BJP and its leaders in opposing the corrupt government in the state, Pradip Yadav told The Avenue Mail over phone. Yadav said no signal had yet been given by AJSU president Sudesh Mahato on the JVM proposal.

The anti-BJP statement of the Poraiyahaat MLA-cum-leader of JVMs legislators came shortly after former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Arjun Munda virtually turned down JVMs proposal by saying that the party would like to wait till the 16th May verdict of the Lok Sabha polls. The party will discuss states future in a meeting after counting is over. Any decision will be taken by party leaders following the counting results, Munda told scribes at BJPs Jamshedpur office on his return from Varanansi on Saturday.

Yadav took a dig at Munda and state BJP president Ravindra Rai for pouring cold water on the JVMs plans to topple the state government, while alleging that the previous BJP-led state government too, had fostered corruption in the state. Rai today ruled out teaming up with JVM for ensuring Hemant Soren governments collapse.

The BJP government is equally responsible for the plight of the state. It is answerable to the people who are now facing the same situation under the present regime led by Hemant Soren and the Congress party. Various franchise-based contracts were introduced in the state by Arjun Munda. It was he who had favoured the corporate houses. Now the Hemant Soren and Congress led government is doing the same by proposing electricity supply on franchise-basis in Ranchi, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur, said Yadav.

The JVM leader denied speculations of JVM having taken a U-turn from its pre-Lok Sabha poll stance when JVM president and former CM Babulal Marandi had ruled out going with either the BJP or the Congress on any issue in future.

This is not a U-turn for us. We are seeking the support of BJP and AJSU for the sake of bringing down the government from the apex of corruption. It is in the interest of the people that we have dared to approach the BJP or Congress.

Otherwise, our stand is still the same. We will never ally with the BJP or the AJSU when it comes to government formation in Jharkhand come whatsoever. There should not be any doubt about it, Yadav said.

A JVM delegation will be meeting Jharkhand governor Syed Ahmad on 13th May to seek his intervention on the issues of franchise-based power supply proposal, issuance of tenders for PWD projects worth Rs 6000 and awarding iron ore mining lease to three companies by the state government.
