Jamshedpur: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Chandrabhan Singh passed away at the age of 84 on Sunday. He was undergoing treatment at Tata Main Hospital. He had joined the party from the time of Jan Sangh. His son Rajesh Singh is a state working committee member of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.
Many senior party leaders including state food minister Saryu Roy and district BJP president Dinesh Kumar visited the senior leader�s house to condole his death. Roy said the veteran leader had contributed a lot for the BJP�s rise. The BJP president said the party had suffered a setback with the death of Chandrabhan Singh.
Sources said the deceased leader will be cremated at Swarnarekha Burning Ghat tomorrow.
The BJP president said Chandrabhan Singh will be wrapped in party flag before funeral.
Among others who condoled the veteran leader�s death included Bari Murmu, Rakesh Singh and Amarjeet Singh Raja.
