BJP launches campaign against Hemant government

Ranchi: A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders of the state today met Jharkhand governor Dr Syed Ahmad and handed over a chargesheet on the alleged failures of the Hemant Soren government.

Led by the state BJP president Dr Ravindra Rai, the delegation leaders accused Chief Minister Hemant Soren of failing to implement various development and welfare projects in time. They alleged that the government had failed miserably to live up to the expectations of the people of the state. They said the government had pushed the state backwards by slowing down the speed of progress as a consequence of its inefficacy on all fronts.

The state BJP president said the government could not count its achievements in the fields of agriculture, education, health, structured development, electricity, road, water, welfare and law and order.

Former CM Arjun Munda said the state government had lost the moral grounds to stay on at the helms of government. He said the government had also failed to control crime in the state besides failing to offer a solution to the power and water crises.

The United Progressive Alliance government came in power in the state on 13th July. Even after a year, the government is still struggling with its weaknesses. The government was formed as a result of conspiracy. The foundation of the government was laid by the then UPA government at the Centre. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha was made just a pawn by the Central government to destabilize the previous state government led by the BJP, said Munda.
The BJP leaders said the government had failed to spend the funds under the planning and development head. The government has also failed to recruit teachers despite a vacancy of 40,000 in the state, they said.

The Mukhya Mantri Khadyann Yojana has been stopped. Many ambitious schemes of Panchayati Ran and rural development department have been thrown on the backburner. The government was supposed to get Rs 1583 crore for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Scheme. But it got only Rs 621 crore. This is pathetic as the state does not deserve this even after so many years of its existence, said the former CM.

The BJP leaders further said that the road construction department had floated a tender of Rs 6000 crore which was much more than the budget amount. The government has also failed to implement its plan to build a bridge on River Ganga in Sahebganj. Many other projects including that for constructing Ranchi-Bokaro-Dhanbad express highway and three flyovers in Ranchi have failed, they said.
