BJP Deploys Top Guns for Jharkhand Civic Poll Push

Ranchi/Jamshedpur: The BJP has intensified its campaign for the upcoming civic body elections in Jharkhand, rolling out a high-profile line-up of central and state leaders to ensure the victory of party-backed candidates across key urban centres.

Former Union minister Smriti Irani is likely to address public meetings in Ranchi and Jamshedpur in support of BJP-supported nominees, adding significant national weight to the party’s local campaign.

Her proposed rallies are expected to energise cadre and consolidate urban voters ahead of polling. The party’s national general secretary, Arun Singh, and national secretary Rituraj Sinha are already on the ground, spearheading an aggressive outreach programme and coordinating campaign strategy with district-level leaders.

At the state level, BJP Jharkhand president Aditya Sahu and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi are closely monitoring booth-level preparations, focusing on micro-management to maximise voter mobilisation and organisational efficiency.

Senior leaders, including former Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Union minister Arjun Munda, have stepped up campaigning in the politically significant Kolhan region, holding meetings and interacting with local workers to consolidate support.

Party insiders say the leadership is also addressing challenges posed by rebel candidates in select constituencies, working to contain dissent and prevent vote fragmentation.

With an all-tier mobilisation—from central heavyweights to grassroots functionaries—the BJP appears determined to convert its organisational strength into electoral gains in the Jharkhand municipal elections.
