BJP Jamshedpur protest against police excesses during mask, helmet checking

Jamshedpur, Apr 7: Alleged police excesses in the garb of checking masks and helmet led to a woman biker falling down and sustaining injury at Ulidih in Mango on Tuesday. 

BJP leader Vikash Singh led by supporters today staged a protest against the police excesses in front of the Ulidih thana for nearly two hours. The BJP leader alleged that Kanchan Devi,  aresident of Sankosai was going along with her brother Abhay Kumar Upadhyaya on Tuesday afternoon to house and near the Ulidih thana all of a sudden a police constable with lathi ran after them and came in front of the bike and started beating the bike with the lathi which led to Abhay Kumar Upadhaya losing control over the bike leading to Kanchan Devi falling from the bike on the road sustaining head injury and bruises in different parts of the body. Police personnel present at the spot did not try to help them. However, locals took the woman to the local hospital for treatment and she got back consciousness after three hours and informed the BJP leader. 
The BJP leader Vikash Singh then informed traffic DSP about the incident who assured of action after coming to city as he was outside in Hazaribagh. 
During the dharna, traffic inspector assured of investigation and action against the constable. 
The brother of the woman has lodged a case against traffic police.
