BJP intent on altering constitution, alleges Banna Gupta

Jamshedpur: Former minister Banna Gupta strongly criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP over alleged derogatory remarks made about Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. In a press release, Gupta accused the BJP of harboring intentions to alter the Constitution and disregarding its principles.

Gupta stated, “The BJP’s eagerness to change the Constitution proves they do not believe in its values. Amit Shah’s remarks have not only insulted Dr. Ambedkar but also the constitutional framework of the country.” He further alleged that the BJP’s policies reflect an anti-Dalit and anti-backward mindset, undermining the contributions of Dr. Ambedkar, who championed the rights of the exploited, deprived, and marginalized sections of society.

Highlighting Ambedkar’s legacy, Gupta noted, “Baba Saheb gave dignity to every caste and religion, fostering social unity and harmony. However, BJP’s divisive approach seeks to dismantle the Ganga-Jamuni cultural ethos that binds the nation together.”

Demanding accountability, Gupta urged Amit Shah to stand before Dr. Ambedkar’s statue, issue a public apology, and resign from his position. He emphasized that BJP’s alleged insult to Dr. Ambedkar reflects a disregard for India’s constitutional values and a regressive political stance.
