BJP govt has been an utter failure in checking spiraling prices: Banna Gupta

Jamshedpur, Dec 5: On the last day of campaigning for the second phase of Assembly elections � 2019 today, Congress� Grand Alliance candidate from the Jamshedpur West constituency Banna Gupta had an overflowing crowd at Mango Gandhi Maidan to listen to him. The Congress candidate�s response was equally responsive when he said, �Jamshedpur is a Mini India where people of various regions, cultures and religions gel to form a culture of peace and amicability. The people and parties who are trying to poison the beauty of this sublimity will meet their fate at the Vidhan Sabha hustings. The people of this city will never excuse them.�

Banna Gupta observed in his speech at the hugely attended meeting in Gandhi Maidan, �Jamshedpur is a city of the working people. Unfortunately, the current government is reallocating public sector undertakings into private hands. The result is there for all to see. Factories and business houses are dropping shutters and quite a few are on the way to closure leaving a sea of workers jobless. Has the government pondered on this grave issue?�

Cutting a joke while taking a jibe at the government, the Jamshedpur West Congress candidate for the Assembly polls said, �The government had promised Rs 15 lakh to each citizen. If it is unable to pay the promised amount, let the government pay the interest of Rs 15 lakh to the people and even if that is not possible, then let it give one kilogram of onions each to the people.�

Banna Gupta accused the BJP government of cutting a miserable figure in its failure to check spiraling prices of common consumer items of daily need. Addressing the huge rally today, the last day of campaigning for the second phase of Jharkhand polls to be held on December 7 next, the Congress candidate for the Grand Alliance from the Jamshedpur West seat stated, �By observing this huge turnout, it is not difficult to gauge that the electorate wants a change and wants such a representative who is committed to the development in the constituency and who is by their side at all times sharing their sorrows and their joys. I consider myself blessed and extremely fortunate because the people of Jamshedpur West Assembly constituency love me and have faith on me. I assure you all that I will never let this bond to break,� and added, �I have always served the people like a son of the family who stands by at all times. I stand by you in sharing your joys and sorrows and will continue to do so at all times.�
