BJP government to pay penalty in assembly polls: JVM

Jamshedpur, Sept 14: Members of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha, Golmuri unit, staged a one day dharna before Golmuri Chowk Hanuman temple to protest against the newly amended Motor Vehicle Act. They were led by the Jamshedpur Mahanagar president of JVM, Babua Singh.

Addressing the gathering, Singh said the state government had given relief to the people from strict checking of documents of vehicles for three months after facing flak from the people. He said the state government was afraid it would lose votes due to excessive fines imposed on traffic offenders under the new law.

Singh said the state government will have to face the brunt of the people in case it did not revoke the provisions made in the recently amended MV Act.

The protestors included Rahul Singh, Tarachand Kalindi, Chandrashekhar Rao, Suryakant Jha, Umesh Prasad, Deepu Srivastava, Satyendra Paswan, Santosh Tiwary and Bhushan Dikshit.
