BJP government committed to farmers� welfare: Goswami

Jamshedpur: Former state BJP president Dineshanand Goswami said the BJP-led Central and state governments were committed to the overall development of farmers. He said the Narendra Modi government was running numerous development and welfare schemes for the Scheduled Caste, Adivasi and backward classes.

Goswami was addressing a meeting of party workers in Nedra village of Gamharia panchayat in Baharagora on Thursday. He said free gas connections are being provided in the name of Adivasi women under Ujjwala scheme. He said the BJP was the only party which was working for the uplift of tribal people.

The senior BJP leader further said the state government would provide pucca houses to all poor families by 2022. By the end of this year, Baharagora will be declared open defecation free (ODF), he said.

Goswami said the Modi government was implementing the toilet construction project under Swachhata mission all over the country.

Later at the meeting, 40 Santhali youths joined the BJP. They were given party flags and administered oath by senior party leaders.
