SP City and DSP Patamada to probe into the incident
Jamshedpur: A delegation comprising Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP leaders met senior superintendent of police Anoop Birtharay on Thursday in connection with the alleged manhandling of former district BJP president Rajkumar Srivastava by police.
Leading the delegation, Dinesh Kumar, Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP president, demanded that the police department should conduct a probe into the allegations of physical torture leveled by Srivastava against the OC of Olidih PS Mukesh Choudhary. Condemning the incident, Kumar said the role of the OC was highly irresponsible in the entire incident.
Kumar however maintained that the dispute between Srivastava and the relatives of another BJP leader Sanjeev Singh was just a family dispute for the party. He said efforts were on to end the dispute and normalize the situation.
The SSP assured the BJP leaders of conducting a fair probe into the incident. He said a two member probe team comprising SP City Prabhat Kumar and DSP Patamada Vijay Mahato would conduct the probe.
Among those who met the SSP included Chandrashekhar Mishra, Nandjee Prasad, Sanjeev Kumar, Khemlal Choudhary, Mukul Mishra, Harendra Pandey, Lallan Dwivedi and Krishna Bhushan Trivedi.
