Jamshedpur: District BJP leaders on Monday celebrated the passing of Jharkhand Education Tribunal Bill 2017 in the Jharkhand Assembly. They distributed sweets at the Sakchi BJP office and termed the enactment as the victory of the party and parents who had long demanded measures to control the private schools.
District BJP president Dinesh Kumar said a large number of parents were forced to pay exorbitant sums as school fees earlier. Now with the passing of the law, the government will be able to curb the schools, he said.
Kumar said the district BJP spokesperson Ankit Anand had launched a phased agitation against the whimsical attitude of the private schools who had imposed heavy fees under various heads on the students. He said the Shiksha Satyagrah campaign stated by Anand had succeeded finally.
The BJP leaders thanked Chief Minister Raghubar Das, education minister Neera Yadav and other NDA MLAs for supporting the bill.
Among others present during the celebrations included Chandrashekhar Mishra, Kulwant Singh Bunty, Bhupendra Singh, Arun Mishra, Anil Modi, Vimalkant Jha, Neeru Singh, Vimal Baitha, Seema Das and Roshan Singh.
