BJP activists protest arresting of party leader at Kadma PS

Jamshedpur: Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and supporters created ruckus at Kadma police station on Friday to protest arresting of Raja Sardar, president of Kadma unit of the partys Scheduled Tribe front.

Sources said the BJP leaders demanded release of Raja Sardar who was reportedly caught with arms by the police.

Sardar alleged that the supporters of Congress leader and the MLA of Jamshedpur West Banna Gupta had first beaten him up and later planted the arms in his possession to get him arrested. He said he was nabbed as a result of a conspiracy.

Police officials refused to say much in connection with the agitation. They only said that the accused was caught with a gun found tucked in his waist during frisking.

Protesting the arresting, district BJP president Nandjee Prasad alleged that Raja Sardar was returning home in Kadma police station area last night all the way from Sakchi when supporters of Banna Gupta stopped him near ECC Flats and beat him up.
