BIT Mesra’s EPAC Inspires Young Environmentalists with ‘Vrikshit 2026’ at Kishalaya Vidya Mandir

Ranchi: In a creative bid to encourage ecological responsibility in the younger generation, the Environmental Protection and Awareness Club (EPAC) of BIT Mesra hosted its flagship event, “Vrikshit 2026,” at Kishalaya Vidya Mandir. The initiative successfully blended hands-on conservation with artistic expression, moving beyond traditional classroom learning to address the urgent need for sustainable living.

The program was jointly inaugurated by Dr. Neeta Kumari, Assistant Professor at BIT Mesra’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and School Principal Suman Thakur. Addressing the students, Dr. Kumari emphasized that environmental stewardship must begin at an early age to foster lifelong habits of conservation.

The day featured a series of interactive workshops tailored for students of Classes 6 and 7. Highlights included an origami art workshop and a spirited quiz competition, followed by a clay modeling contest themed “Save the Earth.” Students used these mediums to voice their perspectives on environmental protection, showcasing both artistic talent and ecological awareness.

The event reached its climax with a joint plantation drive across the school campus. EPAC members and students worked side-by-side to plant saplings, transforming the day’s theoretical lessons into a tangible, green legacy for the school.
