Jamshedpur, Dec 11 : The team “Winter is Ours” from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra has secured a significant victory at the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025.
The prestigious national-level competition was organized by the Ministry of Education and AICTE.
Led by Krish Rastogi, the winning team included Daksh Quera, Pratyasha Palit, Prasun Raj, Adnan Adil, and Ishan Singh. The team was mentored by Dr. Anand Prasad Sinha and Dr. Vishal H. Shah.
For the competition, the students developed an AI-powered centralized platform aimed at addressing a key challenge related to beneficiary identification and financial inclusion under the PM-AJAY Scheme (GIA Component) of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
The platform features automated beneficiary identification algorithms, AI-enabled form-filling support for persons with disabilities, and voice-command-based website access, making it both inclusive and technologically advanced.
The 36-hour national hackathon comprised three phases, each involving mentorship and jury evaluations.
The team’s innovative and impactful solution helped them rise above strong competition from across the country, earning them the top position at SIH 2025.
