Bistupur Ram Mandir election set for February 18

Jamshedpur, Feb 8: Elections for the posts of office bearers of the managing committee of Bistupur Sri Ram Mandir will be held on Sunday, February 18. The contest at the hustings will be for every post. The electoral officers for supervision of the elections will be M. Bala Subramanyam and T. Shashi Kumar.

There are three contestants for the post of president are incumbent president V.D. Gopal Krishna and M. Bhaskar Rao, and Venkateshwar Rao. Two contestants will try their fate at the polls, SV Durga Prasad Sharma and M Prakash Rao for the post of general secretary. There will be a direct contest between V. Vijay Kumar and N. Ramakrishna Rao for the Treasurer’s post.

Approximately 2,200 voters are expected to participate in the election. On the other hand, candidates for the positions of President and General Secretary, M. Bhaskar Rao and M. Prakash Rao, have issued their declaration letters regarding the election. Bhaskar Rao stated, “The temple is a religious and prestigious place for the Telugu community, and they pledge not to compromise its dignity at any cost.”

M Bhaskar Rao and M Prakash Rao promised not to permit any activity or group that undermined its sovereignty and integrity. Their aim is to encourage energetic youth to participate in temple activities, ensuring the preservation of the temple’s history of over 100 years, and fully understand and follow culture and traditions. They also intended to promote maximum participation of women, establish a women’s wing to provide leading events and services, provide transparent services to the Ram Mandir and Telugu community, utilize temple resources at every cost, assist in the education and marriage of poor girls under benevolent schemes, acknowledge and respect the appropriate value for seniors, including those who have contributed invaluable services to the temple’s growth and development, prioritize incomplete or delayed projects, engage experts with the temple, obtain approval from the general body before implementing major project proposals, adhere strictly to the constitution, and amend it as per the current situation, prepare an annual budget, and present it to the AGM.
