Jamshedpur, Jan 5: Three bike borne miscreants snatched Rs 10,000 from an elderly person who had withdrawn the money from bank near Dharmashala under Ghatshila police station area in East Singhbhum district on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, Ghatshila Rajstate resident Subal Chandra Dey had withdrawn his pension amount of Rs 10,000 from United Bank of India and was walking to his home when a youth stopped the elderly person saying that his shirt back had some marks while two other youth came toward the resident and tried to help in cleaning the marks from his shirt by bringing water from the nearby shop. While the elderly person was busy in cleaning the marks on his shirt the three youths snatched the bag containing the amount and bank passbook and escaped on a bike.
However, all these incidents were recorded in the CCTV camera and Ghatshila thana in-charge Rajiv Ranjan is trying to trace the culprits through their images recorded in the cameras.
