Bhubaneswar: IndiaOne Air aircraft force-lands near Rourkela, all onboard safe

Rourkela/Bhubaneswar, January 10: An IndiaOne Air aircraft operating from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela made a forced landing near Jalda on Friday, around 8 nautical miles short of its destination, after encountering a technical issue. All six persons on board, including two pilots and four passengers, are safe and there were no fatalities.

The aircraft, a Cessna Caravan 208 bearing registration number VT-KSS, departed Bhubaneswar at around 12.27 pm. During the flight, the pilots detected a technical problem and took the decision to carry out a precautionary forced landing. The timely and skillful action of the pilots ensured that lives were saved.

Following the incident, the district administration rushed to the site and arranged immediate medical assistance. The injured pilots and passengers were shifted to medical facilities in Rourkela. At present, three passengers are undergoing treatment at J.P. Hospital, while both pilots and one passenger are being treated at Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH). Officials said all injured are under medical treatment and observation, and their condition is stable.

The incident has been reported to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and other concerned authorities. As per aviation regulations, IndiaOne Air will submit a detailed report to the DGCA and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) for further investigation and necessary action.

The Directorate of Aviation has also taken note of the incident, while authorities have reiterated that safety remains the top priority.
