Jamshedpur: A delegation of members of Bhojpuri Navchetna Manch met the Factory Inspector of Jamshedpur on Friday to complain against local private companies allegedly ignoring safety of workers.
Leading the delegation, the outfit member Appu Tiwary said several workers were injured in separate mishaps while on duty in plants of private companies in the city. “The companies not only deprive the workers of accident benefits, but also conceal information about the mishaps from the district administration and government officials. Victims are also threatened against speaking to anyone about the mishaps,” said Tiwary.
Tiwary said FIR should be registered against companies who have not yet given compensation and job to the workers and their kin. A list of workers injured on duty was handed over to the Factory Inspector.
The delegation members included Manish Singh Chouhan, Shashi Singh Rajput, Neeraj Dubey, Nishant Mishra, Abhishek Ojha, Mahavir Singh, Vikas Tiwary, Akhil Pandey, Vinay Singh, Pravin Prasad, Krishna Singh and Abhay Pandey.
