Jamshedpur: In preparation for the birth anniversary celebrations of the founder of the global Scouting movement, Lord Baden-Powell, a significant planning meeting was convened by the Bharat Scouts and Guides, East Singhbhum district, on Saturday afternoon.
The meeting was held at 3:30 PM at the district headquarters office located at Aam Bagan, Sakchi, Jamshedpur.
It was chaired by Senior Vice President Satish Kumar Baranwal and witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of Scouters, Guides, Rovers, Rangers, and representatives from various schools across the district.
Notably, several former President’s Award–honoured Scouters, reconnecting with the movement after nearly four decades, attended the meeting.
Among those present were Guru Charan Singh Nagi, G.S. Golan, Mukesh Kumar, Brahmjeet Kaur, Shivaji Singh, Shobha Pathak, Prem Kumar, Dayashankar Mishra, and Satyendra Singh. District Cub Wing Commissioner Shyam Sharma and Devvrat Biswas were also in attendance.
During the deliberations, senior members shared their experiences and reaffirmed their commitment to revitalising and strengthening the Scouting movement in East Singhbhum.
A structured roadmap was discussed, focusing on systematic meetings and activity-based initiatives aimed at reinforcing organisational growth and youth engagement.
The district has planned a grand celebration on February 22, at the district headquarters to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Baden-Powell.
The event will bring together Scouts, Guides, Cubs, and Bulbuls from various schools across the district.
Several competitions and interactive activities will be organised to foster teamwork, discipline, leadership, and the core values of Scouting.
The programme is scheduled to commence at 9:00 AM and conclude at 4:00 PM. Brahmjeet Kaur has been entrusted with the leadership and overall responsibility of the event.
The meeting proceedings were conducted by District Organising Commissioner Naresh Kumar, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Shyam Sharma.
The forthcoming celebration is expected to rekindle enthusiasm among young members and further consolidate the Scouting movement in the district, reaffirming its enduring legacy of character-building and community service.
