Police to deal strictly with bandh supporters, hooligans

Jamshedpur : Security has been beefed up following a nationwide strike or �Bharat Bandh� on Monday, September 10, called by the Congress Party to protest against the Narendra Modi government over the spiraling fuel prices in the country. The call for the Bharat Bandh has been supported by several political parties.
According to information, long distance buses ( both private and government) for various destinations of Jharkhand including Ranchi and Deoghar would stay off the road. Moreover, city buses and auto-rickshaws won’t ply.
“We are concern over the situation and have decided that long distance buses would stay off the road during the bandh,” said Upendra Sharma, chief convenor of Jamshedpur Bus Owner’s Association.
SSP Anoop Birtharay said that the administration will also conduct video recordings of bandh protagonists enforcing bandh forcefully so that documents can be produced for nailing the bandh supporters.
Similarly, railway authorities have also been directed to initiate actions as per Railway Act for those who enter in an unauthorized manner the Tatanagar Railway Station premises, platforms and squat on railway tracks.

The police administration is going to deal strictly with anti-social elements who target to vandalize public as well as private property in the name of bandh. FIRs will be lodged against the culprits and the damages would be collected from the political parties who have called the bandh. A helpline WhatsApp number 7091091825 has also been released asking people to report ay sort of violence.
The administration will also conduct video recordings of bandh protagonists enforcing bandh forcefully so that documents can be produced for nailing the bandh supporters. “We have beefed up the security . The aim of holding such drill was help the police personnel for dealing with any situation arising out of the bandh protagonists who will come on the streets for making the Jharkhand bandh call a success. We will use `mirchi’ bombs to disperse the protestors in the event of any violence resorted to by the bandh supporters,” said another police officer.
A senior police official on condition of anonymity said that the administration will resort to preventive arrest of the leaders belonging to Congress and other political outfits which are supporting the bandh in the state.
