Jamshedpur: �Just listening to the narration or recitation of the passages from Srimad Bhagwat Gita and imbibing the message will arouse the holy spirit within you,� said Prasann Kumar Shastri from Kolkata on the opening day of the holy scripture�s reading during the Srimad Bhagwat Week organized at the Shiv-Durga-Hanuman Mandir in the Society Colony Complex at Parsudih.
The narration and recitation from the Holy Scripture will be held between 2 pm and 6 pm every day till the conclusion on February 19.
The auspicious program commenced with 101 women carrying water from Shri Ram Mandir in Makdampur to the site of the venue at Shiv-Durga-Hanuman Mandir.
Prasann Kumar Shastri�s recitation and explanation from the Srimad Bhagwat Gita passages in his lucid voice enhanced the devout atmosphere at the venue. He said that just listening to the narration from the Holy Scripture aroused the spirit in man and took him to another level in proximity of the Divine.
He said, �Bhakti, knowledge and renunciation of the material world are aroused when one listens to and imbibes the teachings and crosses all worldly barriers to be one with God that is manifest in Lord Shri Krishna. God has no craving for material glitter but hungry for the purity of souls.�
