The Lok Sabha became a battleground for Indian politicians as they debated on the Beef Ban issue, Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi were at loggerheads throughout the duration of the committee. In the Futuristic Special Convention, the delegates of United States and China debated on the threat of World War III.
It was an exhilarating experience for all the participants as they took the role of ambassadors of different countries. They learnt the workings of the UNO and about the issues facing the world. It taught them to be diplomatic while at the same time safeguarding the peace of the world.
After the day concluded, Pranshu Kumar, secretary general, said, “The aim of any committee in an MUN is to reach a solution by passing a resolution on the problem. A Model United Nations or MUN is a simulation of the United Nations, where students from different schools of Jamshedpur took on the role of delegates of different countries and debated on issues with the common aim of ensuring peace in the world”.
He further informed that, DBMUN 2015 is not an event just for those who are fond of debating and public speaking, it also appeals to those interested in photography and journalism. Students photograph the proceedings of the event and make reports acting as the International Press.
Around 80 students participated as delegates at the conference.
