Jamshedpur, November 6:. Beat patrolling system will now be implemented at the police station level to control crime and stop drug trade in Jamshedpur city.
Under this, a beat patrolling team has been formed at the police station level. It will be implemented soon under the guidance of East Singhbhum SSP Kishore Kaushal.
To operate the system, there will be an in-charge in every beat who will keep an eye on the policemen present in beat patrolling while on duty as well as serve all the applications and warrants coming to the police station. Different teams have been formed for different areas in each police station.
SSP said that beat officers and assistant officers will be in constant touch with the people of the area and will collect every small and big information related to crime in the area.
They will also keep an eye on hotels, kiosks and crowded places in their area and keep information about history-sheeters and absconding criminals, banks, schools, colleges, bus stands, railway stations and religious places, markets.
They will keep mobile number of at least one person associated with all the places. Police will put up boards with names and numbers in every area.
SSP said that the Jamshedpur police team will put up number boards of beat officers, station in-charges and police officials in the area.
After the incident, people do not know where to call. Any person can call and give information by seeing the number on the board.
