Jamshedpur, April 26: Milanee, the oldest socio-cultural edifice of the city organized a new year programme entitled Barsho Baran in the evening. The programme commenced with tributes to the legends of music Lata Mangeshkar, Sandhya Mukhopadhyay and Bappi Lahiri. The programme was anchored by The Milanee Vice President Bhaskar Mitra. General Secretary Raju Dutta extended Poila Boishakh greetings to all community members.

Prominent scribes Chitrodip Bhattacharya, Niloy Sengupta, Antara Bose, Rima Dey and Dwip Pal Chowdhury were honoured on the occasion. A bonanza of songs was presented by popular city artistes Shipra Banerjee, Tathagata who in tribute to legendary singer Manna Dey sang two of his popular hits besides rendering other numbers. The vote of thanks was offered by the Club’s Joint Secretary, Krishnendu Chatterjee.
