Jamshedpur: Hitherto a barren land hurting the concept of beauty has now been transformed into a scenic landscape of green gold a 20 acre area swept by the greenery created through vegetable farming.

This is now the picture of village Bhatin in the Jadugoda PS area under Potka Block of East Singhbhum. It is the result of a vision long harboured by the president of Indian Tribal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ITCCI) Khelaram Murmu who has turned his vision into a ground reality.

The 20 acres of barren land, now a canvas of flourishing vegetable farming is a pilot project that is laden with optimistic prospects. This has been made possible by the waters of the Gurra River flowing by the land of emerging prospects.

The work of laying pipelines connected to a pump to draw water from the Gurra River and distribute it to the 20 acre land is in progress on a war footing.
Khelaram Murmu said, The vegetables grown here will be sent to all corners of the country and it is a resolve to motivate people for taking up farming. We will soon launch a motivational drive for the purpose.

Murmu believes that farming can be a profitable business and this sense has to be inculcated among the people. I want people to maintain happy lives through farming, he observed prophetically.

Twenty labourers work on this 20 acre plot. Khelaram Murmu intends to set up a training centre in Bhatin to train and motivate farmers with better farming modes and bounteous economic prospects.
