Banna Gupta hoists Tricolour at Gopal Maidan, Padma Shri Janum Singh Soy felicitated

Jamshedpur, Jan 27: On the occasion of the 74th Republic Day, Health Minister Banna Gupta hoisted the National Flag and felicitated Jamun Singh Soy of Ghatshila, who has been bestowed with Padma Shri award this year. Soy has been awarded the Padma Shri award by the Government of India for his excellent work in the field of language and literature.

Soy, formerly a professor of Hindi department, was the first head of department of Hindi in Kolhan University in 2009-10. A resident of Ghatshila, Soy was a faculty at the Ghatshila Government College in his initial years of teaching.

On the occasion, the parade display and tableaux were the centre of main attraction in the district level function. Seven contingents participated in the parade in which Assistant Police got first, District Police Force (Women) second and NCC boys got third.

In the same tableau, the education department got the first place, civil defense got the second place and the tableau of the transport office got the third place. The winners were awarded with trophies on the occasion. In the tableau of the Education Department, the band of girl students of Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School, Patmada forced everyone to applaud. The officers and personnel of the district administration and the police department officers and personnel who did excellent work in the implementation of government schemes/office related works were honored by the Minister. Apart from the winner, all the platoon commanders and parade commanders were also awarded by the Hon’ble Minister on the occasion.

Gupta, in his address, while saluting the brave fighters of the country, extended hearty greetings and best wishes to the people of the state and the district on the occasion of Republic Day. He said that we got constitutional freedom on 26 January 1950. The contribution of Babasaheb Ambedkar cannot be forgotten who played an important role in providing constitutional freedom. He also placed the development works being done by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren in front of the people in his address. He noted that every successful effort is being made to make the state prosperous and advanced.

On the 74th Republic Day, Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner’s office, collectorate, ITDA office, Red Cross Society’s office, Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar, office, SSP office and Police Line, Sub-Divisional Officer Dhalbhum Piyush Sinha, SDO, Satyaveer Rajak in Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Office, District Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar saluted the national flag by hoisting the flag in the Public Relations Office, including BDOs and COs in block cum zonal offices, station in-charges in police stations, non-government institutions and educational institutions.
