Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum district administration on Wednesday directed banks to organize extensive Kisan Credit Card (KCC) camps during the upcoming Kharif season and ensure that banking services reach rural areas that are deprived of adequate financial facilities.
The directions were issued during a meeting of the District Consultative Committee (DCC) and District Level Review Committee (DLRC) of banks held at the Collectorate Auditorium. The meeting was attended by Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, Reserve Bank of India (Ranchi) Manager Shoham Shom, NABARD District Development Manager Jasmika Baske, Lead District Manager Sanjeev Kumar Chaudhary, along with representatives of various government departments and banking institutions.
A review was conducted on institutional credit disbursement in the district, the progress of financial inclusion initiatives, and the implementation of various government welfare schemes. Stressing the importance of strengthening the agricultural sector, the Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan instructed banks and concerned departments to conduct the maximum number of Kisan Credit Card camps so that eligible farmers can receive timely agricultural loans and financial assistance for farming activities during the Kharif season.
The meeting also reviewed the district’s credit-deposit ratio, achievements under the Annual Credit Plan, pending loan applications, and credit disbursement under priority sectors. The Deputy Commissioner asked all banking institutions to work in close coordination and ensure that targets are achieved while the benefits of government schemes are provided to eligible beneficiaries within the stipulated timeframe.
Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan emphasized that better coordination among banks, government departments, and development agencies is essential for accelerating economic growth, strengthening agriculture, and creating employment opportunities.
