Bank of Baroda Jamshedpur organizes 8th Baroda Farmers’ Fortnight in Chandil

Jamshedpur: As part of the 8th edition of the Baroda Farmers’ Fortnight, the Bank of Baroda (BoB), Jamshedpur Region, organized a grand Farmers’ Fair in Chandil.

The event was graced by Swapna Bandopadhyay, General Manager of the Bhubaneswar Zonal Office; Amit Kumar, Regional Manager; Sunil Kumar Saha, Deputy Regional Manager; Amit Tiwari, Sanjeev Srivastava, Abhishek Kumar Roy, Ladura Sundi, Shashikant Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar and Deepak Kumar Gupta from various branches. Narayan Chandra Gope, President of the Chandil Dam Displaced Credit Society, was also present as a special guest.

Explaining the objective of Kisan Pakhwada, General Manager Swapna Bandopadhyay said, “The primary aim of our Kisan Pakhwada is to connect farmers with modern agricultural facilities, government schemes and comprehensive banking services. These include Kisan Credit Cards, tractor loans, dairy loans, agriculture loans, food processing schemes, agricultural infrastructure finance and gold loans.”

Farmers were also educated on digital banking, online fraud prevention and the safe use of financial technology. During the event, the bank sanctioned several agricultural loans, including Nari Shakti loans for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and financing for tractors and other agricultural ventures.

Over 400 farmers and women from self-help groups attended the fair, which served as an important platform to bridge the gap between banking services and rural entrepreneurship. (w/gsd)
