Series of events mark day 1 of Annual Management Fest at XLRI
Jamshedpur, Feb. 24: Xlerate’18, the 5th edition of the Annual Management Fest organized by the PGDM-GM batch of XLRI, Jamshedpur started on Friday. Madhvi Mishra, SDM, East Singhbhum inaugurated the event. Speaking on the occasion she congratulated and provided her best wishes to the students.
This was followed by a Leadership talk by Prakash Singh, Chief Capability development officer, Tata Steel. Singh talked about the importance of purpose in leadership systems. He shared various anecdotes to stress upon the importance of purpose and goal in the organization.
The first day of the fest witnessed interesting events like – “What’s in the box”- a marketing event where students conceptualized a product/service using a set of ingredients and created an advertisement for the same. This was followed by “The Outpost”- A debate competition where the teams put forth their views for and against various interesting topics like “Have print advertisements lost their relevance in the digital age”
In the sports category, XLRI PGDM-GM students played cricket against Kerala Samajan.
The following colleges are scheduled to participate in the 3 days event- IIM Indore, IIM Ranchi, IIM Raipur, NIT Jamshedpur, Rajendra Vidyalaya, National Institute of securities market, Orissa Institute of Interior and Fashion Technology, Xavier Institute of social service Ranchi, Institute of Public Enterprise Hyderabad, SP Jain Mumbai, IIFT Ranchi. Along with colleges, corporates like Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Xoriant Corporations will participate in Rangmanch, Futsal and Quiz.
The event culminated with a Magical evening as the Famous “Bandish Fusion” and “Warsi Brothers” mesmerized the audience with their amazing performance. Students, faculty and the crowd enjoyed songs like “o laalmeri” , “maulamaula” and various sufi renditions.
