Seraikela: Jharkhand bandh called by opposition parties against the land acquisition laws passed by the state government evoked mixed response in Seraikela-Kharsawan.

Police arrested 548 bandh supporters from different parts of the district and released them later on PR bond. No untoward incident was however reported anywhere in the district.

The bandh partially affected normal life in Seraikela where most of the shops were open throughout the day. Heavy vehicles too, plied normally.

However, passenger vehicles remained off road. Schools, colleges, government offices, banks and other commercial establishments were open with tight security arrangements at sensitive places. RAF jawans and magistrates were deputed in large numbers.
