Jamshedpur, Feb 28: The balcony of a dilapidated building at Parsudih Market collapsed that led to panic among shopkeepers. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening during rains, narrowly averting a major accident. Approximately 12 to 13 shop roofs also collapsed during the incident.

Dilip Kumar Gupta informed that notices had been issued to 198 shopkeepers, declaring the building condemned by the Agricultural Market Committee. Instructions were given to demolish the affected shops, some of which could be demolished at any moment.

Six months ago, shopkeepers, with the assistance of MLA Mangal Kalindi, had appealed to the Deputy Commissioner for repairs to the upper part of the building. However, following the transfer of the Deputy Commissioner, no action was taken, leading to the collapse of several shop roofs during the recent rains. However, no casualties or damages were reported.
