Bakrid Jamshedpur: Safety measures in place, social media under scanner  

Jamshedpur, June 28: In view of Eid-ul-Adha, local authorities have intensified security measures across the city to ensure the safety and smooth celebration of the festival. In an effort to prevent potential security threats, the entry of heavy vehicles has been restricted within the city limits during the festive period.

Under the new restrictions, heavy vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and lorries, are prohibited from entering the city. Entry of heavy vehicles to the city would be prohibited from 6 am till 11 pm tomorrow.

This measure aims to alleviate congestion, reduce the risk of accidents, and enhance the overall security environment within the city. Alternative routes and designated parking areas have been arranged to accommodate the affected vehicles during this period.

In addition to traffic regulations, the local police force has increased its presence across key areas, including markets, shopping centers, and prayer grounds. Additional personnel have been deployed to provide round-the-clock surveillance and ensure the safety of citizens and visitors alike. Security checkpoints have been set up at strategic locations, with thorough screenings and inspections being conducted to preemptively identify any potential threats.

Authorities have also urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals to the police immediately. It is essential for everyone to cooperate with security personnel and follow their instructions to ensure a peaceful and secure festive season.

Speaking about the security measures, a police official said: “Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our citizens. The increased security measures are designed to provide a secure environment for everyone to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha without any worries. We request the cooperation of the public in adhering to the traffic restrictions and reporting any suspicious activities promptly.”

Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is a significant religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. During the festival, Muslims sacrifice animals, usually sheep or goats, and distribute the meat among family, friends, and the less fortunate.

With the stringent security arrangements in place and restrictions on heavy vehicles, authorities aim to ensure a peaceful and joyous Eid-ul-Adha celebration for all residents. The public is encouraged to cooperate with the authorities and remain vigilant throughout the festive season. Social media posts will be under scanner. 

SSP Prabhat Kumar also instructed to make effective police picketing and snap checking on the exits and entrances of sensitive parts of the city and take important steps for police mobile, motorcycle on on-foot patrolling to keep close vigil on suspected elements.

East Singhbhum administration has ordered deployment of strong force of district police accompanied by Rapid Action Force (RAF) jawans at strategic locations in communally sensitive pockets of city especially in Mango, Sakchi, Jugsalai, Shastrinagar (in Kadma), Dhatkidih (in Bistupur), Masjid Road (in Golmuri) and Bhalubasa (in Sitaramdera).

“ As per the orders the forces deployment would be from evening to morning along with deployment of magistrates who would be doing vigil in communally sensitive areas. We have also held several rounds of peace committee meetings at all the police stations and their members would also be helping the administration,” said an official.
