Jamshedpur, May 11. In the case of communal violence in Shastrinagar under Kadma police station area, the bail plea of the accused was debated in the Jamshedpur court on Thursday.
The debate went on for one and a half hours in the court of ADJ 2 Abhas Verma of Jamshedpur Court, in which 40 to 50 advocates participated. The courtroom was completely filled with advocates. The debate, which began at 7.30 am, ended at 9 am. BJP leader Abhay Singh and other accused were physically present.
During the arguments, the senior advocates told the court that the arrest made by the police was wrong. The advocates told the court that Abhay Singh and others were arrested for planning the violence. While there is no evidence that Abhay Singh planned the violence.
The advocates told the court that according to the charge sheet of the police, they had received intelligence that some people were planning to create ruckus in the area, while there was stone pelting and firing from the particular community.
The Judge, during the course of argument, found that the injury report of the injured policemen was not included in the charge sheet prepared by the police, after which he sought answers from the public prosecutor. The court will pronounce its verdict on the bail plea on May 17.
