Baidyanath Ram’s Affidavit Reveals Assets Exceeding ₹2 Crore

Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Rajya Sabha candidate Baidyanath Ram has declared assets worth more than ₹4 crore, while also disclosing outstanding liabilities of ₹66.86 lakh, according to the affidavit submitted with his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha election.

The affidavit reveals that Baidyanath Ram and his wife jointly own movable and immovable assets exceeding ₹4.10 crore. His movable assets are valued at approximately ₹2.09 crore, while his wife has movable assets worth ₹42.48 lakh. These include cash, bank deposits, vehicles, jewellery and other investments.

According to the disclosure, Baidyanath Ram has around ₹30.52 lakh deposited in various bank accounts, while his wife holds approximately ₹7.11 lakh in bank deposits. He owns three vehicles — a Tata Safari, a Scorpio N, and a loader vehicle — collectively valued at about ₹99.25 lakh. His wife owns two vehicles worth nearly ₹12.90 lakh.

The JMM leader has declared gold and silver ornaments valued at around ₹55.19 lakh, while his wife possesses jewellery worth approximately ₹20.97 lakh.

In terms of immovable assets, Ram owns agricultural land and other properties in the Latehar region. The market value of his self-acquired immovable properties has been estimated at ₹1.45 crore, while inherited and ancestral properties are valued at ₹1.58 crore.

The affidavit also details his financial liabilities. Baidyanath Ram has outstanding loans of ₹66.86 lakh, primarily comprising vehicle loans and borrowings from banks and financial institutions. However, he has reported no pending dues related to income tax, GST, municipal taxes or any other government liabilities.

As for income sources, Ram has listed agriculture, house rent and government pension as his primary sources of earnings, while his wife is engaged in business activities.

For the financial year 2024–25, Baidyanath Ram declared an annual income of ₹15.52 lakh, while his wife reported an income of ₹6.99 lakh, the affidavit states.

Congress Candidate Pranav Jha Declares Movable Assets Worth 95.57 Lakh, Lists Himself as Unmarried

Ranchi: Congress Rajya Sabha candidate Pranav Jha has declared movable assets worth ₹95.57 lakh in the affidavit submitted along with his nomination papers for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand. The affidavit also states that he is unmarried, with no spouse-related assets mentioned in the disclosure.

According to the affidavit, Jha possesses ₹1.10 lakh in cash and has bank deposits of approximately ₹14.62 lakh in an account with Bank of Baroda. He has also disclosed investments in life insurance and health insurance policies.

The Congress nominee owns a Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, valued at around ₹7 lakh. In addition, he has declared gold ornaments, gold coins, and a luxury wristwatch among his valuables, with the total value of jewellery and other precious items estimated at ₹43.95 lakh.

Notably, Jha has not declared ownership of any agricultural land, non-agricultural land, commercial property, residential building, or any other immovable asset in his affidavit.

The affidavit further states that no criminal cases are pending against him and that he has never been convicted in any criminal matter.

In the marital status column of the affidavit, Pranav Jha has identified himself as “Not Married.” Consequently, no details relating to a spouse’s assets or liabilities have been included in the election disclosure documents.
