Jamshedpur, Sept 11: Man and machine have been combining determinedly to remove the �garbage mountain� that has accumulated through years of neglect and human folly in Bagbera. The district administration, TSUIS Ltd management, Ramavati Welfare Foundation and the railway management have joined shoulders and are ensuring clearing of garbage in Bagbera thana area that entered the seventh continuous day on Thursday. Bagbera Mahanagar Vikas Samiti president and BJP leader Subodh Jha took the initiative to get the garbage that had piled up over the years.
JCB, tractors, Haiwa and sanitary department workers have been pressed into service for garbage clearance. A pit has been dug on a stretch of wasteland in Bagbera area. The garbage is being thrown in the pit and the Vikas Samiti authorities have urged residents not to litter waste but to throw them in the pit. Trees will be planted over the pit after the cleaning process is completed.
It was on the directive of Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar that various agencies and organizations have been taking turns in getting the garbage removed. The Railway Area Manager Vikas Kumar, TSUIS Ltd GM Capt Dhananjay Mishra, Jamshedpur CO, Jugsalai Special Officer JP Yadav, Bagbera PS OC Rajesh Singh, Anurag Verma of Ramavati Welfare Foundation and members of the Bagbera Mahanagar Vikas Samiti have been participating in the garbage clearance drive. Those present today were Dipu Pandey, Sanjay Singh, Kartick Kumar, Mithu Jha, Lalit Pradhan, Prem Kumar Nagla, Ritu Singh, Krishna Chandra Patro, Ranjan Srivastav, Ashok Kumar Singh and Anil Mishra.
