Jamshedpur Celebrates World Poetry Day

Jamshedpur: To mark World Poetry Day and its third anniversary, leading literary organization Bachik Manjari hosted an evocative cultural evening at the Rabindra Bhawan Auditorium on Saturday. The program, themed “Not War, But the Triumph of Humanity,” seamlessly blended poetry, music, and dance to captivate a packed audience.

Inauguration and Felicitations

The evening commenced with a serene recitation of Sanskrit shlokas, setting a spiritual tone for the event. Chief Guest Bikas Mukherjee, President of the Jharkhand Bangabhashi Samanvay Samiti, officially inaugurated the function alongside distinguished guests Tapas Mitra, Sabyasachi Chand, Tapas Chatterjee, and Arvind Mitra.

During the ceremony, the organization felicitated several eminent personalities for their outstanding contributions across various fields. The awardees included Ashish Chaudhary, Tushar Dasgupta, P.K. Nandi, Jharna Kar, Dr. Sandeep Chandra, Sujit Mukherjee, and Chandana Chaudhary.

Artistic Performances: Anti-War to Nature

The cultural showcase unfolded in two distinct phases. The first phase focused on powerful recitations of anti-war poetry, echoing the event’s humanitarian theme. The second phase transitioned into lighter, lyrical performances centered on love and nature. Performances by child artists emerged as a major highlight, drawing significant praise for their creativity and expressive delivery.

Seamless Execution and Curation

Around 40 artists participated in the event, which benefited from the thoughtful curation and direction of Sushmita Ganguly. Anchors Sushmita Ganguly and Malay Acharya skillfully guided the proceedings with support from Mithu Mandal. The aesthetic appeal of the evening was further enhanced by the stage décor designed by Malay Acharya and Mousumi Ghosh Hajra. Poorbi Ghosh concluded the event by delivering the vote of thanks.
