Jamshedpur, September 23: Tata Steel Sports department organized a Golf Putting Competition for Senior Citizens (55 years of age and above) as part of the Senior Citizen Fun & Fitness League at JRD Tata Stadium on September 20.
The event witnessed more than 25 enthusiast golfers across Jamshedpur from the senior citizen fraternity. Dr. KP Dubey former Chief Medical Officer, Tata Main Hospital was the Chief Guest and Mr Rakesh Kumar, Commandant Central Reserve Police Force, was the Guest of Honour.
The championship was a part of the Senior Citizen Fun & Fitness League which already has completed Table Tennis, Badminton, Water polo and Walkathon events. The championship was organised under the leadership of Vibhuti Adesara, Head Sports Events & Training Centres, Tata Steel with the active co-operation of Neelam Kumari and Mr Dinesh Rakshit
There were representatives from the Sports department, including Hassan Imam, Firoz Khan, Vasudev Rao, K Nageswar Rao and Ajit Singh.
The competition was organised in four age groups: 55-60yrs, 60-65yrs, 65-70yrs & 70 and above.
The winners were: Avijit Bose was winner in 55-60 years age category, M K Jha in 60-65 yrs category, Basudeb Choudhary in 65-70 years, B K Vadera in 70 years and above age category was declared the winner.
