Jadugoda, Oct 14: Jagdish Chandra Kar of Galudih under Ghatshila Block, had filed a case of spat and brawl against his son-in-law Somay Mahapatra at the Galudih PS.
Upon release on bond, Somay, in retaliation, torched his father-in-law’s auto rickshaw, removed the asbestos roofing of his wife Mangla’s house and set it on fire and threatened to sprinkle acid on her face. The total loss of assets is estimated at Rs 3.50 lakh.
Somay Mahapatra is a Chakulia resident.
Jagdish Chandra Kar said that with his autorickshaw totally charred, his bread earning ways had been brought to naught.
The family is worried and feels threatened. Kar has asked the Galudih police for protection. He fears that the entire family would starve as his only source of income, the autorickshaw has been completely burnt by his son-in-law, Somay Mahapatra.
The family is looking up to the government, peoples’ representatives and philanthropists for financial help.
