Aurangabad: Aurangabad Police has busted an inter-state gang that stole vehicles in Bihar and sold them in Jharkhand. In this action, the police have arrested half a dozen members including the leader of the interstate vehicle theft gang. A stolen tractor and half a dozen mobile phones have also been recovered from the gang.
Aurangabad Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer (SDPO) Amanullah Khan told a press conference here on Thursday that secret information was received that the inter-state Gulabi Paswan gang was involved in the theft of a Swaraj tractor on October 11 in Hetampur village of Aurangabad Muffasil police station. Information was also received that gang leader Gulabi had come to his village. On this information, he along with Muffasil Police Station Head Rajesh Kumar and Police Sub Inspector Ram Iqbal Yadav conducted a force raid in Gulabi’s native village Bara village of Madanpur police station. During this time Gulabi Paswan was arrested.
Police said that after the arrest, the gang leader Gulabi Paswan admitted before the police that he along with his associate Sanjeet Ram and two other criminals had stolen the tractor in Hetampur. After the theft, that tractor was sold for Rs. 60,000 through Kamaldev Yadav of Garvaiyan village of Barchatti police station of Gaya district to Vikas Yadav, resident of Revda of Dhangai police station of Gaya district. After this, the police raided the villages of both and arrested them. After their arrest, both of them admitted that they had sold the tractor to Nitish Yadav and Umesh Yadav of Patluka village of Dhangai police station. After this both of them were also arrested by the police.
After their arrest, both of them admitted that they had hidden the stolen tractor in the house of Nitish’s brother-in-law Kauleshwar Yadav, resident of Harhad village of Rajpur police station in Chatra district of Jharkhand. After this the tractor was recovered in front of Kauleshwar Yadav’s house. In this way, the police broke the chain of vehicle theft gang and arrested half a dozen criminals of interstate vehicle theft gang who were involved in theft and sale. He said that the remaining criminals of the gang will also be arrested soon in the case.
Among the arrested criminals, gang leader Gulabi Paswan, resident of Bara village of Madanpur police station, Sanjeet Kumar, resident of Gandhi Nagar of Madanpur police station, Kamaldev Yadav, resident of Garvaiyan of Barachatti police station of Gaya district, Vikas Yadav, resident of Revda of Dhangai police station of Gaya district, Dhangai police station. Patluka residents Umesh Yadav and Nitish Yadav are included.
The items seized by the police in the case include a Swaraj tractor number-BR 26 GB 3201 and six mobile phones.
